A Las Vegas judge sentenced Duane “Keffe D” Davis to 40 years to life in prison on Tuesday for the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur. Judge Carli Kierny said he’ll get credit for time already served.
Davis, 63, was convicted in August of murder with a deadly weapon. He pleaded not guilty. At sentencing, he spoke briefly, only asking for some belongings police took from his home, like his pictures, to be returned. He had nothing else to say.
Clark County DA Steve Wolfson said “justice has been served for Tupac Shakur and his loved ones,” and that he hopes the sentence brings his family some closure and peace.
Tupac was 25 when he was gunned down. Three decades of theories, documentaries, and unanswered questions later, there’s finally a sentence on the books.
Rest in power, Pac. 🕊️
